SkyCritterSkyCritter Privacy Policy
SkyCritter is a weather app with a pixel-art companion. This policy explains what data the app uses, where it goes, and what stays on your device. The short version: we don't run servers, we don't collect analytics, and we can't see your data.
What the app uses
Your location. With your permission, SkyCritter reads your device's location to show local weather and dress your critter for the conditions outside. Your coordinates are used in two ways:
- Sent to Apple Weather (Apple's WeatherKit service) to fetch forecasts. This request is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- If you unlock the Pro tier, sent to Google's Air Quality and Pollen services to fetch air-quality and pollen data. Only your coordinates are sent — no name, no identifiers, nothing else. Google's handling is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
You can decline location access and search for a city manually instead.
What stays on your device
Everything else. Saved locations, unit preferences, notification settings, your chosen critter, your critter's sleep schedule, and cached weather data are stored only on your device. None of it is transmitted to us. We have no servers and no way to access it.
What we don't do
- No analytics or tracking. The app contains no analytics SDKs, ad trackers, or fingerprinting.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile of you anywhere.
- No selling of data. We have no data about you to sell.
Purchases
In-app purchases (critter skins, SkyCritter Pro) are processed entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Notifications
If you enable weather notifications, they are scheduled locally on your device based on cached weather data. No push-notification server is involved.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)
Because SkyCritter stores your data only on your device, you are already in full control of it:
- Access / portability: your data lives in the app on your phone.
- Deletion: delete the app and all of its data is gone. You can also clear cached weather in Settings → Clear Cache.
- Objection / restriction: disable location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services.
If you have any question or request about your data, email contact@mitmllc.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
SkyCritter does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, no chat, and no data collection.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change (for example, if we add a server-side feature), this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
