Need a hand with Sky Critter? Here are answers to the most common questions. If you do not see yours, email us and we will help.
Quick answers
The weather is wrong or not showing. What should I check?
Sky Critter needs location access to show your local weather. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, make sure Location Services is on, find Sky Critter, and set it to "While Using the App" (or "Always" if you use widgets or alerts). Then reopen the app.
How do I turn on widgets or weather alerts?
Widgets and background weather alerts need "Always" location permission so they can refresh when the app is closed. Set that in the same Location Services screen above. Add the widget from your Home Screen the usual way (long-press the Home Screen, tap the plus, and search for Sky Critter).
What is in Sky Critter Pro?
Pro unlocks extra features, including air-quality and pollen readings for your area. Air quality and pollen are the only features that contact a service beyond Apple's weather; see the privacy policy for exactly what is shared and when.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Purchases are tied to your Apple ID. On a new device, sign in with the same Apple ID and use the app's restore option, or reinstall the app and your Pro features and critters will restore automatically.
How do I get a refund?
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, signed in with your Apple ID.
How do I remove my data?
Sky Critter does not store your data on any server. Turning off location stops all data use, and deleting the app removes everything it kept on your device.
